What is it?
The thermal efficiency of your Fireplace Xtrordinair® and Lopi® wood or pellet appliance has been determined to be 75% or greater and qualifies for a
$300 tax credit as authorized for biomass-burning home heating stoves.
Fireplace Xtrordinair’s and Lopi’s efficiency determination complies with the guidance published by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in section 25C of the Internal Revenue Code. Homeowners should consult their tax advisor to determine whether they qualify for any potential income tax credits. See IRS form 5695. Valid January 1st, 2019 through December 31st, 2020
How to Claim It:
- Complete eligible purchase by December 31, 2020.
- Retain the receipts from your purchase as well as the certificate stating the stove qualifies. Download your certificate below.
- Claim the credit on your federal income tax form.
If you made a qualifying purchase in a previous tax year and you want to claim the credit, you must file an amended return using
IRS Form 1040-X.
